Biosolids are a product of wastewater, which is turn is produced by all humans. Biosolids are a valuable resource which can be used is a positive manner, similar to the process in which recycled paper, glass and aluminium cans are used. Biosolids use provides cost savings to the public who pay sewage fees and end-users of the resource, while enhancing sustainability. The fertiliser and soil amendment attributes of biosolids also make it worth using biosolids, closing the nutrient cycle and reducing the need for production and use of synthetically developed fertilisers. Biosolids can also be used as a renewable alternative fuel.
